Mt. Raung erupted on July 10, 2015 in Java, the main island of Indonesia. The eruption ejected ash 3,800 m (12,460 ft.) in the atmosphere. Mt. Raung is located 150 km (95 mi.) from Bali International Airport and was responsible for the cancellation of many flights. The volcano is a composite volcano or stratavolcano and is 3,332 m (10,932 ft.) tall. These types of volcanoes are highly explosive and can be extremely dangerous.
