The Colima Volcano (also known as the "Volcano of Fire") erupted again on Saturday, July 11 sending a cloud of ash 4-miles into the atmosphere. The eruption was also accompanied by major lava flow which caused authorities to seal off a 7.5 mile radius around the volcano. Eruptions began on Thursday, July 9 and have become increasingly more violent. The communities surrounding the volcano are all very small (less than 800 people) and have all been evacuated. There is a fear that the volcanic dome may collapse as a result of the emptying of the magma chamber.
