New Horizons continues to send back amazing data from Pluto. NASA recently posted a simulated flyover video from images collected from the LORRI (Long Range Reconnaissance Imager) sensor. In the video we see two regions on Pluto: Sputnik Planum (Sputnik Plain - named after the first artificial satellite to orbit Earth) and Hillary Montes (Hillary Montains - named after Sir Edmond Hillary, a member of the first party to climb Mt. Everest.) These images were collected on July 14, 2015 from an altitude of 48,000 mi. (77,000 km) above Pluto. Talk about out of this world geology!
